Born in Canada NIAGARA FALLS on December 29, 1960.

Passed away on November 23, 2002 at the age of 41.

Joe was an amazing big brother.  He was a great listner and advisor. Joe was hard working and smart.  He was married to an amazing women and had 3 beautiful children.  He also had a wonderful mother who adored him, a loving father who was very proud of him and a  brother who was 19 months younger then him, who looked up to him.  I am his baby sister and I loved him more then he knows.  He was my sister I never had, best friend, father figure (he was 12years older) and one amazing brother.  I know he cared for me deeply.
Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and loved his children dearly.  He was a wonderful father.  He also was a black belt in Karate and was dedicated to being the assisant coach for his son's hockey team.  The hockey association found Joe to be so dedicated that there is an award in his name for the most dedicated hockey player.
Joe, you will be in all hearts forever,

The Joe Mannella Memorial Trophy is given to the player in the Minor Midget division who best exemplifies the qualities of dedication and sportsmanship in hockey. During Joe's six years as an assistant coach with BLOMHA he exhibited these qualities continually, as a coach and a volunteer. Even when his son was sidelined for an entire season through an injury, Joe continued his duties with the team. His positive attitude and approach earned him the respect of the players and his coaching partners year after year.
